Project Outline

This project was made in the course Concept-Driven Interaction Design at Chalmers. It was an individual project, from March to May 2024.

Scope

This project aims to evoke reflections regarding the high costs of veterinary care and modern pet ownership. By presenting a speculative scenario through the design of an app, the project aims to illustrate a future where veterinary care becomes increasingly inaccessible. The design highlights the potential consequences and emotional impact on pet owners, leading to a critical discussion on the need for more affordable and equitable veterinary care solutions.

Design Process

The most challenging part of this project was going from user-centered design to concept-driven design. Apart from the conventional design process that I usually apply, I also wrote a love letter and a positionality statement.

Final Design

In this dystopian future where we cannot afford professional care for our pets, we might have to do it our selves. This app is one example of how we could start monitor our dogs much like the apple watch and other health apps for humans.
